Lilly Pulitzer~ Semi Annual Sale Tips

Each year Lilly Pulitzer does two huge sales, one in January and one in August. These two sales are the only times that Lilly Pulitzer has online sales. They do not announce the dates until about a week before, but I like to be prepared for when they do announce it. I have been shopping their sales for a few years now and have learned quite a few things through my experiences. For the August sale they will likely include items from Fall 2014 through beginning Summer 2015. However, in the past they have been known to throw in a few older items into the sale on occasion.

~Have An Open Mind~
Lilly Pulitzer does not specifically state what will be in each sale. That being said I do not recommend waiting for the sale to buy something specific you have been dying for. If you have been dying for it I recommend you buy it now, because there's no guarantee it will be in the sale. However, having a wish list is something I recommend. Items on your wish list can be searched first as you must shop quickly.

~Create An Account~
To make it easier to check out quickly, it is best to create an account on Lilly Pulitzer's website before the sale begins. This way your payment methods and shipping address will already be in the system and will make check out easier.

~Use Multiple Devices~
More than likely the Lilly Pulitzer site will crash due to the high volume of people using the site. By using multiple devices you will have more chances of staying connected to the website. I'm not sure how the app is going to work with the sale, but I don't recommend using your phone for the sale as computer and tablets will work faster.

~Know Your Sizes~
It's important to know your Lilly sizes going into the sale because items are not returnable. It will also make it faster to not have to read the reviews of how something fits before choosing a size, this will slow down your purchase and it may no longer be available if you wait too long. If you are unsure of sizing, you may want to go to a Lilly store and just try on items that you will be looking for in the sale just for size reference.

~Check Out Often~
When you find an item you want, it is best to immediately check out with each item. This is because items in your cart can disappear and become sold out if you wait too long. Luckily shipping is free so there is no need to bundle items before checking out.

~Shop All Day~
The sale usually starts at 8AM and that is the ideal time to shop for the best selection. But I do recommend checking back through out the day because items may be restocked or new items may possibly be added.

~Follow Lilly's Instagram~
Lilly Pulitzer usually announces the sale date on their Instagram as well as in an email. But also during the sale they occasionally have Instagram exclusive items where the link can only be found through their Instagram. Buy turning on your notifications from Lilly on Instagram you'll be sure not to miss out on their announcements.

~Set A Budget~
Even though this is my last tip, it is still very important to keep in mind! Setting a maximum amount of money to spend during the sale is crucial for not depleting your entire bank account at one time. While its very tempting to shop nonstop, as the deals are fabulous, having a spending limit will help you know when its time be done shopping.

Here's a little peak into some of the items that are on my wish list(:

Cozy Spirit Jerseys

As the season are changing over from summer to fall the weather is getting cooler. Even though it's not cold yet, it its much cooler in the morning and evenings than during the afternoons. This is a fun time to mix long sleeves with shorts as well as short sleeves with long pants or jeans. One of these combinations that I love includes a spirit jersey with shorts. It allows me to wear my favorite Lilly Pulitzer shorts  past the summertime.  The spirit jersey is always a cozy option because they are thicker than a t-shirt but not as thick as a sweatshirt. They are typically worn oversized so this allows for them to be extra comfortable. So even when I wear shorts, I am still able to stay warm enough throughout the day.

Easy Ways To Go Green

I have this theory that we should all be kind to the environment, because if we don't who will? There is no need to add more unnecessary items to landfills than we have to. Also for the sake of the animals that live in rivers and near landfills, we have to look out for them. Here are a few simple ways you can be more green in your day to day life. ~Use Reusable Bags~ Using a reusable bag when going to the grocery store should be common practice by now. All of those plastic bags ending up in the landfill is truly unfortunate. I like the Lilly Pulitzer reusable market totes because they hold a good amount of items, but can be put on your shoulder so that it does not feel as heavy. ~Recycle Paper~ You would think that everyone recycles paper by now, but surprisingly that is not the case. It is very simple to get a cute little paper tray to put in a desk drawer to put unwanted paper in. Whether it be an envelope or unneeded copy paper, its so easy to just throw it into the

September Bucket List

Now usually people talk about having Summer bucket lists or Fall bucket lists, but this is my September bucket list. This is different because its technically still Summer until September 23rd, however September is a month of transition into fall activities with the continued warmth of summer. I'm not quite ready for the cool of fall to begin, however I am looking forward to the fun happenings the fall has to offer. Photo c/o Evelyn Henson This Evelyn Henson print matched my thoughts exactly. Instead of croissants, I plan to find the best bagel place in my small college town. My idea of a journal is continuing with my blogging that I love so much. Shopping for fall accessories is easily one of my favorite tasks. I don't generally love fall colors, but I do like to incorporate a few of my summer colors with almond tone clothing during the month of September. Trying a new cocktail is always great fun that it should truly be on every monthly bucket list. Stocking up on
