Happy 240th Birthday America

I hope that y'all enjoyed your Fourth of July weekend as I most certainly did. Each year my family and I go to our lake house to celebrate the holiday and this year was no different. While Christmas and Thanksgiving are traditionally holidays meant to spend time with family, I think that the Fourth of July is the perfect time to spend time with family. I mean you can't beat warm weather, good food, and fireworks! I must add that fireworks are hands down one of my absolute favorite things in the world to watch, and watching them over the lake or ocean with the reflection is even better! So here's a peek into what I did this weekend!

Most of my time this weekend was spent on the lake with my family. We like to just ride around then stop and swim in the cove for awhile, it's super relaxing! I also enjoy wakeboarding, which I made sure to make time for on the lake this weekend. Additionally, there is a lakeside restaurant that we enjoy driving to and having drinks and appetizers while overlooking the lake.

One night we went to a local vineyard where they had a live band and delicious wine tastings. There is just something so gorgeous about rolling hills covered in grape vines.

While we had seen some fireworks another night out on the lake, we also enjoyed fireworks at the vineyard. There is no such thing as too many opportunities to see fireworks!

Lastly, and most importantly, I am so blessed to live in a country that gives me so many freedoms, although we often take them for granted. Sadly many places in the world are not as fortunate as us. So I want to say thank you to the brave men and women that protect this country each day and thank you to those that have previously fought to gain us the freedoms we have today.

God Bless America

September Bucket List

Now usually people talk about having Summer bucket lists or Fall bucket lists, but this is my September bucket list. This is different because its technically still Summer until September 23rd, however September is a month of transition into fall activities with the continued warmth of summer. I'm not quite ready for the cool of fall to begin, however I am looking forward to the fun happenings the fall has to offer. Photo c/o Evelyn Henson This Evelyn Henson print matched my thoughts exactly. Instead of croissants, I plan to find the best bagel place in my small college town. My idea of a journal is continuing with my blogging that I love so much. Shopping for fall accessories is easily one of my favorite tasks. I don't generally love fall colors, but I do like to incorporate a few of my summer colors with almond tone clothing during the month of September. Trying a new cocktail is always great fun that it should truly be on every monthly bucket list. Stocking up on

Easy Ways To Go Green

I have this theory that we should all be kind to the environment, because if we don't who will? There is no need to add more unnecessary items to landfills than we have to. Also for the sake of the animals that live in rivers and near landfills, we have to look out for them. Here are a few simple ways you can be more green in your day to day life. ~Use Reusable Bags~ Using a reusable bag when going to the grocery store should be common practice by now. All of those plastic bags ending up in the landfill is truly unfortunate. I like the Lilly Pulitzer reusable market totes because they hold a good amount of items, but can be put on your shoulder so that it does not feel as heavy. ~Recycle Paper~ You would think that everyone recycles paper by now, but surprisingly that is not the case. It is very simple to get a cute little paper tray to put in a desk drawer to put unwanted paper in. Whether it be an envelope or unneeded copy paper, its so easy to just throw it into the

Life is Short. Smile While You Still Have Teeth

Whether you are having a bad and want to have a good day or are having a good day and want to have a great day, having simple ways to boost your mood will ensure that you get back on track in no time!   Spend Time With Friends For me one of the best parts about having roommates is that my best friends are always right down the hall. They're my best friends for a reason, so they will always known how to pick me up when I'm down Watch A Favorite Movie I love watching movies when I know there is an amazing feel good ending, and even more when they're funny movies. Some of my favorite feel good movies are The Blonde Side, She's the Man, Grease, and Breakfast at Tiffany's Take A Nap No matter how old you are, taking a nap in the middle of the day is always welcome, that is if your schedule allows it of course. It allows for a quick reset in the middle of the day so you can wake up like it's a new day. Workout Working up a sweat with my head
